ANOTHER WIN FOR SUSSEX DUCHESS

Flying the flag for Noblet Racing in the new stable colours, talented four-year-old Sussex Duchess secured her second win of the campaign with a bold performance at Seymour.

The mare, by Hellbent, was a $160,000 purchase from the Inglis Premier Sale, offered by Mill Park Stud, who retain an interest in her.

She appears to have matured significantly this preparation, with trainer Andrew Noblet noting she has developed both mentally and physically since her last campaign.

Partnered by in-form jockey Harry Coffey, the mare jumped from barrier four in the 1200m event. After beginning cleanly, the pair settled midfield, one off the fence, maintaining their position through the early stages. Approaching the turn, they made their move as the tempo increased. Peeling out to the centre of the track on straightening, the mare produced a strong finishing burst to secure victory in the final strides.

It’s terrific to see this mare come into her own, rewarding her patient owners with another win this preparation.
