FLUENT GOES BACK-TO-BACK WITH ANOTHER WIN
Thursday, 19 Feb 2026

Talented sprinting mare Fluent made it two wins on the bounce with victory in the Symal Summer Sprint Series over 1200 metres at Cranbourne.
Despite rising in grade, the four-year-old daughter of Shamus Award enjoyed a change of fortune at the draw, finally securing a favourable barrier in gate three. From there, she was able to produce a textbook performance that highlighted both her tactical speed and growing confidence this preparation.
Now five runs into her campaign, Fluent is race-hardened and thriving, clearly relishing the spacing between her runs to keep her fresh and sharp on race day.
Partnered by T. Stockdale, the mare began swiftly and initially took up a forward position before allowing the leader to cross, giving her a perfect trail into the race. Travelling strongly throughout, she settled third on the rail behind the leader and was full of running approaching the home turn.
As the field straightened, she angled into clear running, seized the gap and unleashed her trademark turn of foot. Quickening decisively, she surged to the front and drew clear to score by three-quarters of a length.
It was a strong ride and a bold performance from the pair — and a thoroughly deserved result for a genuine, tough mare who continues to build an impressive record this campaign.
